King of Greystones Triathlon 2025 FAQ

General Information

  • What is the date and location of the event?
    The triathlon takes place on Sunday, 27th July 2025, at Burnaby Park and South Beach, Greystones.
  • What charity does the event support?
    100% of the race fees go to The Gavin Glynn Foundation. Learn more here.

Registration

  • When and where can I collect my timing chip and race pack?
    Collection is on Saturday, 26th July 2025, from 4–6 PM at Burnaby Park, Greystones.
  • What do I receive at registration?
    You will receive a swim hat, transition area entry armband, timing chip, and water bottle.

Race Day Schedule

  • What is the schedule on race day?
    • 07:30: Transition area opens.
    • 08:15: Transition area closes.
    • 08:30: Mandatory competitor briefing at Burnaby Park.
    • 08:45: Assemble at swim start positions.
    • 09:00: Race starts.

Transition Areas

  • When does the transition area open and close?
    Opens at 07:30 and closes at 08:15.
  • Who can access the transition area?
    Only competitors and officials with wristbands.
  • Can I secure my bike in the transition area?
    Yes, feel free to use a small lock for extra security.

Swim Section

  • What are the swim distances and start times?
    • Sprint Distance: 750m, starts at 9:00 AM.
    • Try a Tri: Starts 30 minutes after the main event.
  • Are wetsuits required?
    Wetsuits are recommended for comfort and safety but are not mandatory.
  • What happens if I can’t complete the swim in time?
    A canoeist will assist you to shore, and you may continue the race.

Bike Section

  • What is the bike route distance?
    The bike route is approximately 18.43 km and consists of two laps.
  • Are roads closed for the race?
    No, roads remain open. Competitors must follow standard road rules.

Run Section

  • What is the run route guidance?
    Always keep to the right side of the road/lane. Maps are available online here.
  • What should I do at the finish line?
    Hand in your timing chip at the recovery area and enjoy the refreshments.

Post-Race

  • What do participants receive after the race?
    You’ll receive a goodie bag, medal, and technical tee. Prizes are awarded to winners in various categories.
  • Will there be refreshments?
    Yes, drinks and refreshments will be available at the finish line.

  • Where can I park?
    Parking is available at the South Beach Car Park and DART Park and Ride Car Park.
  • Who do I contact for urgent issues during the race?
    Please approach race marshals for assistance.
